How Do Polarized Lenses Work
There are two types of harmful Ultraviolet (UV) rays: UVA and UVB. Ultraviolet (UV) exposure leads to eye damage. Normally most sunglasses protect from UV rays in sunlight, Galaxylenseâs replacement lenses have 9 levels of Polarized UVABC protection to block any lights that might damage the eyes.
UVA Rays Damages Protection: When absorbed by a crystalline lens, UVA could damage the retina, leading to blindness. Might suppress the immune system, causing skin cancer. Can lead to wrinkling or age spots.
UVB Rays Damages Protection: When absorbed by the cornea, UVB could destroy the outer cells and cause pain, blurred vision, or temporary blindness. The primary cause of sunburn.
Polarizing Film: Blocks lights reflected by horizontally polarized surfaces, such as water or highway. Helps diminish glare.
Lens UV Coating: The lens is heated and soaked in a UV solution, which contains chemicals that will be absorbed into the pores of the lens. Once the lens cools off, the chemicals will crystalize in the pores and never fades out.
Anti-Reflective Coating: Reduces glare, annoying reflections, and halos around light. Eliminates reflections of sunlight into the eyes.
Mirror Coating: Alternative to polarized lenses; both can also be used together for added protection. Reduces the amount of reflected light or glare in bright light conditions.
Scratch Resistance: Made of the thin but durable film on the surface of the lenses to prevent scratches.
