Lola's Spices the beginning!
This journey began in 2011. As a busy teacher, it became a challenge to eat clean and healthy. We craved food with bold flavors, but we didn't always have the time to prepare meals that were satisfying with the bold flavors we love.
With few options, I began creating spice blends that could be used quickly to add the spicy, bold flavors we love, which were also low sodium, free of MSG, and did not contain "free-flowing agents" or other unpronounceable ingredients.

Lola's Spices No Wimpy Flavors seasoning blends are versatile and bold enough to add flavor to any meat, fish, side dish, or vegetable! â
We offer a Cajun, Caribbean, and a Southwest Blend! Each of our three blends are regionally based flavors based on our travels and our favorite food experiences!

Lola's Spices Packaged Beans and Rice and Lentil blends
In 2014, we expanded to include quick-cooking beans and rice blends. We offer a Cajun Red Beans and Rice, Caribbean Black Beans and Rice and Southwest Black Beans and Rice.
Lolaâs Spices No Wimpy Flavors Lentils and Beans and Rice Blends are created in small batches by hand to ensure only the highest quality. We take great care in sourcing only the finest ingredients from like-minded companies.
We use only all-natural ingredients, never use MSG or other "free-flowing" or "anti-caking agents." Lolaâs Spices Lentils and Rice and Bean blends are quick-cooking, to accompany any meal or enjoyed on their own! Over medium heat, simply add water, stir in the pouch and cook for 15 minutes!

Lola's Spices Baked Fish and Southwest Lentils
Prepare Lentils: Rinse, drain and sort lentils. Next, bring 1 1/3 cup of water to a boil. Add lentils, seasoning from packet, and stir. Reduce heat to a low boil, cover with a lid slightly ajar and cook for 15-17 mins or until desired. Optional, add 1 cup of chopped Kale the last 5 minutes or sliced tomatoes.
Baked Fish:
1 Tbl Lola's Spices (any seasoning blend)
1 lb fish fish (cut into 4 oz. filets)
1 tsp Olive oil
Preheat oven to 350 F. Coat cookie sheet with olive oil or other. Place fish on oiled cookie sheet and drizzle olive oil lightly over fish and sprinkle Lola's Spices on both sides until well coated. Place in middle shelf in oven for 4 to 6 minutes. Fish will be done when you tamp down with fork and the juices are opaque.
